At Ghent MUN, there are several awards given out to the finest delegates in each committee. GhentMUN believes that awards are a way to recognize delegates for their hard work and leadership skills. Multiple criteria are being looked at by your Chair such as speeches, debating, negotiation skills in the unmoderated caucus and much more.
There are four types of awards that a delegate can win :
- Honourable mention: This award is attributed to the delegate who has shown a lot of potential during the conference. It is usually a good encouragement to further improve.
- Outstanding Delegate: This award is given to the delegate who has shown throughout the whole conference a sign of great skill and preparation for the debate.
- Best Delegate: This is the highest award given by GhentMUN. The best delegate is the one who performed, prepared, and was the most knowledgeable in the entire committee by making inspiring and valuable speeches, connecting with others and showing strong leadership skills.
- The Best Position Paper: Slightly different from the other awards, the best position paper award rewards the delegate who did a thorough research on the topics as well as the position of their country and is ready to discuss the challenges with other countries.
